Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort

Over the 4th of July we spent six wonderful days at Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort
located on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.  We have been vacationing at this Disney
resort every year for the past 17 years and we love it.  It is our happy place!!

Disney's HHI  Resort seems to be one of Disney's best kept secrets, because when I
mention that we stay here on vacation, most people don't even know that it exists.

We love Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort because it's beautiful, low-key and so relaxing!

Disney's HHI Resort is fashioned after a 1940's hunting and fishing lodge and it's rustic
charm is perfect for a fun and relaxing family vacation.  The resort overlooks the marsh on
Hilton Head Island and live oak trees draped in Spanish moss provide shade from the hot
South Carolina sun.  The rooms have recently been updated with fresh paint, stainless
steel appliances, new countertops and white, comfortable bedding.

You won't find real Disney character's at this resort, but you may see Shadow, a beautiful
golden retriever, who made Disney's HHI Resort his home. Shadow has been part of the
Disney Hilton Head Island family for years.  If you're lucky, Shadow may greet you as
you check in to the resort.

While enjoying the sun and fun at the Disney beach house, be sure to order a Dole Whip
or Dole Whip Coconut Rum Float! Yum!!

If you and the kids like to keep busy while on vacation, be sure to check out the many
activities available through the Disney Resort recreation department.  Nature walks,
crabbing, kayaking, movies under the oaks, pool games and the evening campfire are just
a few examples of the many things to do at Disney's HHI Resort.  Bike rentals are also
available.  Hilton Head has the best bike paths!  We love to bike all over the island.

There are no full-service restaurants at the resort, but you can order Mickey waffles, burgers,
salads, fish taco's and more at Tide Me Over or Signals, located at the Disney beach house.
Be sure to purchase a Disney refillable mug, for unlimited refills on lemonade, coffee and
soda during your length of stay.

There are many wonderful restaurants within walking and driving distance from the resort.
Giuseppi's Pizza, Poseidon, Hudson's and The Sea Shack are just a few of our favorites.
