You never realize how little self control you actually have until a bowl of chips
and salsa is set in front of you at a restaurant. Anyone else have this problem?!?!
Chips and salsa is one of my favorite appetizers. Spicy, salty, crunchy - yes please!
Why wait for restaurant chips and salsa when you can make your own at home.
Homemade salsa is super easy and takes less than 10 minutes to prepare using a
Vitamix® E310 Explorian Series Blender. Happy Hour at home in no time at all!
Everyone loves chips and salsa, so I always keep the ingredients on hand to whip up a
quick batch when friends or family stop by or just because! My recipe for restaurant
style chips and salsa makes about 2 cups. Since this recipe only uses half of a jalapeno
and a little bit of onion and cilantro, use the rest to make homemade quacamole.
You won't be sorry! It's SO good.
I've been though a lot of blenders over the years and dreamed of owning a Vitamix®
one day. Now that day is here, I couldn't be happier! It is the best blender ever!
The Vitamix® E310 Explorian Series Blender features a 48 ounce container that is
perfect for blending smoothies, muffins, homemade salsa and more. It has ten speeds,
allowing you the ability to get just the right consistency for whatever you're blending!
The powerful 2 HP motor can handle even the toughest ingredients. It is a dream blender
for sure!
Not only is the Vitamix® E310 easy to use, it's also easy to clean. Just use a drop of
dish soap and warm water and it can clean itself in 30-60 seconds - no disassembly
required.
What are you waiting for? Get blending!
You can find some of my other blender recipes here, here and here.
The Vitamix® Explorian Series Blender is available to purchase online at Amazon,
Williams-Sonoma, and Bed Bath & Beyond. It is available in-store and online at Macy's,

Restaurant Style Salsa
1 can (14.5ounce) whole tomatoes with juice
1 cans (10 ounce) Rotel (diced tomatoes and green chiles)
3 T chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 of a jalapeƱo, diced
1/8 tsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. sea salt
1/8 tsp. ground cumin
1/4 cup cilantro
juice from half a lime
Combine ingredients into a blender or food processor. Pulse until you get the salsa to
the consistency you prefer. I pulsed it about 10-12 times.
Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
Serve with tortilla chips.
Yield - approximately 2 cups
Enjoy!
