As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
Weekend mornings are a nice time to change things up from my daily breakfast
routine. I have more time to relax and think about what I'm really in the mood for.
Last weekend was nice and warm here in Virginia so I thought a smoothie would be nice
and refreshing.
But if I made a smoothie I would miss my morning oats.
Yikes!
Decisions. Decisions.
Then I remembered I had a brand new Hamilton Beach Wave Action Blender waiting
to be tried out, so I decided on a smoothie bowl and topped it with oat granola, fresh
fruit and coconut flakes. Best idea ever!
A perfect summer breakfast with a little crunch!
I have been so impressed with all of the Hamilton Beach products I have had the
opportunity to review and the Wave-Action Blender did not disappoint!
I use a lot of frozen banana and other fruits in my frozen drinks and I love the
stir spoon feature to help get those big chunks of fruit going. The lid spout makes
pouring easy and the glass jar fits nicely into my dishwasher.
This blender is going to get used a lot!
Also if you love smoothies on the go, be sure to check out my Hamilton Beach
Go Sport Blender post! You will love that little blender too!
The trick to making a smoothie bowl is keeping the smoothie thick enough to
eat with a spoon, so add the almond milk a little at a time to get the consistency
you're looking for.
Top your smoothie bowl with whatever floats your boat.
Fresh fruit, granola, chia seeds, coconut flakes or even chocolate chips!
The more the merrier!
Mixed Berry Smoothie Bowl
1 frozen banana
handful of fresh spinach
1 C frozen mixed berries
1/2 C Greek yogurt
1/2 - 3/4 C almond milk
2 tsp. flax seed, hemp seed or chia
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Top with granola, fresh fruit and coconut flakes.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteI like them just plain strawberry/banana. Sometimes I add yogurt or protein powder, but usually I just use the fruits.

ReplyDeleteMy fav is strawberry, blueberry, banana (sometimes a little coconut) with vanilla yogurt. Due to the excess requests for smoothies in our house, our blender gave up and decided to die. Would love to win this one!
