For real.
My parents never owned a toaster oven when we were growing up, so I guess as an
adult myself, never really thought about it much, but now that I've been using one for
the past week I can definitely see the advantages of owning one.
They are so convenient!
I've been using the Hamilton Beach 4 Slice Easy Reach Toaster Oven with Roll-Top Door
and I love it! The roll-top door opens above the oven, freeing up counter space for more
important things like m&m's and cute cutting boards - ha! The front-access crumb
tray slides out for easy clean up too.
Toaster ovens are nice for toasting of course, but they are also great for making English
muffin pizzas, re-heating pretty much anything and baking a small batch of brownies just
for two. Or one. You choose.
Sometimes a girl needs some chocolate and a small batch of brownies does just the trick.
Toaster oven brownies are baked in a loaf pan which fits perfectly in the Hamilton Beach
Toaster Oven. The large window allows me to check on the brownies without opening
the door.
In less than 30 minutes you can enjoy delicious chocolate brownies without heating up
an entire oven. Win Win!

Toaster Oven Brownie for Two
4 T unsalted butter
1/2 C plus 1 T granulated sugar
1/4 C plus 2 T unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 large egg
1/2 C all-purpose flour
1/4 C M&M candies
Preheat toaster oven to 325 degrees and line a 9 x 5 loaf pan with parchment paper.
In a small saucepan over low heat melt the butter. Stir in sugar and cocoa powder.
Remove from heat and add salt and vanilla, stirring to combine. Let cool for a minute
or two, then add the egg. Slowly add the flour, stirring continuously until all of the
flour is incorporated.
Spread batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle candies on top.
Bake in a toaster oven for about 20 minutes or until the brownie begins to pull away
from the sides of the pan. Cool on a wire rack.
Cut brownie in half and enjoy with someone you love.
Disclosure - I received a Hamilton Beach Toaster Oven for review. As always, all
opinions are 100% my own.

ReplyDeleteOh, I love the idea of making 'mini' desserts! But, my favorite thing to make would be an open faced toasted cheese sandwich topped with a slice of yellow tomato (from my garden) on top. Yum!

ReplyDeleteI would love to make these brownies because they look scrumptious!! I have an old toaster oven (mine is smaller and will not hold that pan LOL!) that I bought to use in our camper years ago since it didn't include an oven. I never had a toaster oven growing up either but it was great to make toast for my family when camping. It wasn't until about three years ago that I thought, "I need to bring it into the house since our regular toaster died". It is amazing all the possibilities you can use it for - my favorite is roasting broccoli for my "green vegetable" at dinner. Now I don't heat up the whole kitchen to roast/bake something!!
ReplyDeleteToaster ovens are great for heating up leftover pizza, much better than a microwave!
ReplyDeleteI would make tomato and basil bruschetta!
ReplyDeleteI would make tater tots. Simple and boring, I know, but they are my favorite thing to make in my toaster oven

I would make cookies.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty simple, I would just toast my bagel in it. Or make pizza. My email is visible if you click on my profile.
ReplyDeleteOur kids eat a lot of fish sticks and chicken nuggets, but I hate heating the oven up to cook a dozen nuggets. I would use this toaster oven to cook those types of snacks.
