the Disney Vacation Club we get to go often!
This year we spent part of our spring break at Disney's Vero Beach Resort
located in Vero Beach, Florida, just two hours Southeast of Disney World.
This was our first visit to Disney's Vero Beach Resort and it definitely won't be our last!
We received such a warm welcome when we arrived and we were so surprised to see
a familiar face from Hilton Head Island as soon as we walked into the lobby!
Hi Rich!
Florida weather in March can be unpredictable, but we were lucky - it was nice
and warm.
Disney Vero Beach Resort lobby is beautiful and very welcoming.
Everyone was so nice and friendly too.
The resort is in the middle of refurbishment, so there was some construction going on
while we were there. We were lucky enough to get one of the newly remodeled rooms
and it was fabulous. The flat screen TV was huge and the queen size beds were so
comfortable!
Our room had a small kitchen area with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, sink
and cabinet, which was nice for keeping our snacks and drinks (aka wine).
Speaking of drinks - if you enjoy soda, tea, lemonade or coffee you should
definitely purchase a Disney rapid refill mug. You can buy the mugs at the
resort gift shop or at Bleachers Bar & Grill, located next to the pool. It's
good for your length of stay. We were in Vero Beach for 4 days and Disney
World for another 4 days and it was refillable there as well.
I LOVE my Diet Coke and hot tea in the morning, so I definitely got my moneys worth!
After checking in we changed into our swim suits and went straight to the pool.
The beach was really windy while we were there, so the pool was much more
relaxing and enjoyable. Bleachers Bar and Grill is right by the pool so you can
enjoy snacks, get lunch or dive right into happy hour and have a cocktail or two :)
Tip: They have Dole Whips at Bleachers!! I LOVE Disney Dole Whips so much!
There are four restaurants at the resort. We decided to explore Vero Beach in the
evenings, so we dined outside of the resort for dinner. You do have to drive a
good 10 - 20 minutes to get to other restaurants though, so be prepared.
The swimming pool is very nice and everyone loves the slide! In the afternoons
Disney Recreation provides fun and games for kids and adults. There are also
crafts and programs you can sign up for if you like.
If you're traveling with small children they will love the Tiger Lily wet play area with
it's water cannons and mini water slide. So fun!
Looking for some "dry" entertainment? Challenge the family to a game of mini golf
at the resort's own 9-hole miniature golf course. Our first night Madison and Justin
won the mini golf tournament sponsored by resort recreation :)
Eb and Flo's Rentals offer bicycles for rent and you can check out
board games, sports balls and more. My husband and Justin enjoyed
playing ping pong!
Chairs and cabanas are available for rent. As I mentioned earlier, it was really
windy while we were there so we stayed by the pool most of the time, but it
was nice to walk the beach in the morning. There were so many shells!
We had so much fun on this vacation and I would recommend Disney's Vero Beach
Resort to everyone! I mean it is Disney after all, so you know it's got be to be great!
We love Disney's Hilton Head Resort and the Vero Beach Resort had a very similar
vibe - low key and relaxing! We would stay here again in a heartbeat and can't wait
to come back!
