Several weeks ago my husband and I celebrated our thirty-first wedding anniversary at
The Inn at Meander Plantation. This stunning plantation, located in Locust Dale, VA
offers fine dining and beautiful accommodations perfect for a cozy get away!
This was our first time staying at a country inn, we've always been hotel kind of people,
but we absolutely loved it! The inn is surrounded by 80 acres of beautiful farm land at
the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, not too far from Charlottesville, Virginia.
The Manor House is simply beautiful. There are four bedrooms available in the manor
house or you can choose to stay in one of six adorable cottages.
We stayed in the Groom's Cottage - our own little private getaway! Surprisingly for
April, the weather was quite warm, which made our stay even better!
The Groom's Cottage has a king size bed, gas fireplace, bathroom with tub and shower.
The bed was super comfortable! The cottage is pet friendly for those of you they like
to travel with your furry friends. It also has Wi-Fi, but it was a bit iffy at times.
We were welcomed with a bottle of local wine and a delicious plate of cheese, crackers
and fruit. The wine in our room was Gray Ghost Vineyards Chardonnay.
It was SO good!
Here are a few pics of the other cottages and the grounds at Meander Inn.
Breakfast at the inn was our favorite. Everything was delicious!
We especially loved the muffins that were served each morning!
We drove to nearby Culpeper for dinner at a farm to table restaurant called Grass Rootes.
The seared salmon and barbequed chicken were fabulous! While in Culpeper be sure to
stop by The Frenchman's Corner for some amazing chocolates and desserts too!
Our stay at Meander Inn was one of the most relaxing getaways we have ever experienced
and we can't wait to go back again some day soon!
By the way, this is not a sponsored post. I won a two-night stay at this inn during at a
conference I attended for work and I just want to share this beautiful place with you.
